Strategy and design for a distance education high school
I led the user experience design for a distance education high school that was overhauling its public marketing-oriented website, student online interface, and selected internal web applications. Research with students and needs analysis within the organization were the foundation for extensive requirements, specification, and interface design work. I developed a content strategy and style guide and helped shape interaction and visual design. The result was improved user experience in the presentation of course information, registration processes, students’ online submission of course work, and a wide range of functionality. Surrey County Council intranet re-organisation
After extensive consultation with internal stakeholders in four corporate service departments, I designed usability enhancements and a content strategy for their large government intranet. My work included content and needs analysis, sitemaps, wireframes and functional specification. I conducted interviews, surveys, and paper prototype testing. For the second phase of the project, I provided information design and editorial leadership on policy and related content. (Jamkit Ltd for Surrey County Council, UK)
