MVest for Financial Advisors

Provided creative direction and strategy for a team of 4 user experience architects in the design of a new web-based portfolio-management application for financial investment advisors.
Discovery: Planned and facilitated a series of workshops to define user interface requirements and user flows.
Concept design: Led interface design work for 100-screen application including design patterns and extensive wireframe diagramming.
Detailed design: Managed development of prototype, internal and client demonstrations and review sessions.

Macquarie Financial Canadian site design

Macquarie Financial needed to be revamped to allow room for expansion and align with new corporate website guidelines. I prepared a navigation model, wireframes and high level content plan for the site. The information architecture invited new customers to learn about a range of products and find help and support, while providing current customers with task-specific entry points to information that mattered to them.

Registration for health support email

The Hearth and Stroke Foundation’s email support program provides customized information on cardiovascular health based on the results of an online risk assessment.

I conducted a usability review, revised user flows, and suggested improvements to the design of landing and sign-up pages to improve adoption of the support e-mails.

Heart and Stroke Foundation “Donate” page

The Heart and Stroke Foundation’s Donate Now page suffered from conflicting calls to action and poor visual design.

I created wireframes of the page to describe an improved interaction strategy and then usability consultation during the visual design and development process.

Conversions jumped 38% after this redesign.

“My Independent Learning Centre” student area

The goal of this project was to increase the use of the online channel for student support and delivery of content.

My information and interface design skills were applied to the presentation of students’ grades, creation of a course progress meter, and online tool for submitting course work.

The work included analyzing “as is” systems, mapping user flows, designing for various user types and states, and ensuring that design could be supported by legacy back-end systems.

The new design has met with positive feedback from students, teachers and ministry of education stakeholders.
