MVest for Financial Advisors

Provided creative direction and strategy for a team of 4 user experience architects in the design of a new web-based portfolio-management application for financial investment advisors.
Discovery: Planned and facilitated a series of workshops to define user interface requirements and user flows.
Concept design: Led interface design work for 100-screen application including design patterns and extensive wireframe diagramming.
Detailed design: Managed development of prototype, internal and client demonstrations and review sessions.

Integrated Wealth Platform User Experience Design

Led a team of five user experience architects in discovery and high level design, integrating a set of independent applications – portfolio management, account management, financial product management, trading, settlement and client relationship management – into a single suite of products. Designed and led an investigative process combining research into applications’ users, scenarios of use, markets and business contexts. CIBC Future Branch kiosk

As part of CIBC’s conceptual ‘future branch’, I led the CGI team that did user experience and visual design for a planned in-branch kiosk. The design engaged customers to explore the product offering, encouraged customers to participate in the bank’s digital channels, and linked to the bank’s public site for additional content and information.

Design strategy: the online customer experience

A major international office equipment manufacturer and service provider required a new direction for their online customer experience.

I conducted extensive qualitative research – on customers, competitors and existing functionality and co-developed a design strategy for the authenticated online experience.

Ten design principles, and over 100 recommendations, were devised for an enriched customer experience that addresses customers’ needs and company strategic goals.

“My Independent Learning Centre” student area

The goal of this project was to increase the use of the online channel for student support and delivery of content.

My information and interface design skills were applied to the presentation of students’ grades, creation of a course progress meter, and online tool for submitting course work.

The work included analyzing “as is” systems, mapping user flows, designing for various user types and states, and ensuring that design could be supported by legacy back-end systems.

The new design has met with positive feedback from students, teachers and ministry of education stakeholders.
